Plantasia: Gardening Tips
Plantasia is a game of real-time resource management. You’ll have to make split decisions to preserve your garden and produce enough mana within the allotted time. Here are a few tips that will give you a green thumb and help your garden flourish.
Always be digging. Your shovel is your most trusted weapon, but rarely should you need to upgrade it. Unlike watering your plants, and spraying bugs, the shovel only needs to do its job once. Make sure you always have a shovel digging up holes as long as there are places to dig. Since you don’t know what color seeds you will be given, try to switch digging between patches of different colors so you always have a hole available to plant seeds of any color to add to that group. If you are always digging, then you should be able to dig holes fast enough without having to spend valuable mana on upgrading this tool.
Buy the most expensive seeds. Once a flower is planted, it can’t easily be removed. So don’t waste space planting anything less than the best seeds available in your garden which will produce the most mana. The exception to this rule may come at the beginning of a round where you will have to wait far too long to save up enough for the most expensive seeds. In this case, buy a batch of the cheap stuff when you have enough mana—but don’t buy anymore! Try to fill your garden with the best plants available.
Take care of pests fast, but don’t upgrade. If you see a caterpillar or ant, hit it with the pesticide right away. There’s no reason to wait until they start gnawing on your plants. Ants especially can devour your flowers in moments. Despite this danger, you rarely will need to upgrade your pesticide. If too many instances occur where you can’t spray one bug because you’re spraying another, then it’s time to upgrade. Also, if dark clouds appear, it means you are about to get swarmed. When this happens, upgrade and prepare for the worst.
Upgrade your water as it becomes necessary. Buying seeds to plant in your garden should be your top priority. But if too many flowers become thirsty, you’ll have to spend some extra mana to upgrade your water pitcher. You’ll know when a drought problem becomes out of hand. If three plants need water at the same time while you only have one pitcher, then it’s necessary to upgrade.
