Diner Dash: Customer Service Pointers
Diving into the fast-paced world of food service can be an overwhelming challenge for Flo. Here are a few tips to keep a cool head and your customers happy. Do a good job and someday you will complete your ultimate restaurant, “Chez Flo.”
You don’t have to wait until Flo completes an action before assigning a new task. You can string together action queues that will keep her moving while you seat new customers. But keep in mind that Flo has only two hands so she can only carry two things at once, including orders, meals, and dirty dishes.
Action chains are how Flo earns the big points in her waitressing career. Every time you do the same action, your score for doing that action will increase each time. The most lucrative action chain is picking up the check, so try to string those actions together. To make things easier, try to wait and seat groups of customers all at the same time. This will usually cause them to order, eat, and finish at the same time. Using the podium will not end an action chain, but serving drinks or putting dishes away will.
Giving someone a check and collecting their dirty dishes are actions that can be done together. When a table of customers is ready for a check, just double click on them to do both. But be warned that this will disrupt an action chain if you discard the dishes.
Try to seat customers so that the color of their seats matches the color of their outfits. This will earn you an extra 100 points. But if you continue to color coordinate your customers, you can earn modifiers that will earn you up to 400 extra points each time.
When you earn an upgrade, get the performer first. He will keep your customers entertained in line so you don’t have to worry about them getting angry while waiting. This allows you time to prepare a strategy and also seat groups of customers at the same time to help with your chains.
Keep your customers in good spirits by serving them coffee and snacks. This will make them leave higher tips. The best time to do this is while you are waiting for people to order. There is usually a few seconds of downtime.
Follow these tips and you’ll establish your four star restaurant in no time. Good luck, and remember, a happy customer is a good tipper!
